An incredible man who lives in China, won a jackpot of $30million but didn’t tell anyone about it in his family because of his own shockingly strange reason.
When the man won the cash prize, he chose to disguised himself as a cartoon character and also decided to hide his name and used the pseudonym Li while going to collect the cash prize.
As per Bloomberg, the man named Mr Li who won the jackpot from Southern China of 219 million Yuan in his lottery revealed that he wanted to hide his win from his wife and son because he didn’t want them to become arrogant and lazy.
“The incognito victory occurred October 24 after the fortunate fellow, who identified himself only as Mr. Li, went to collect a whopping 219 million yuan ($29.9 million) ticket in Nanning, Guangxi,” according to the outlet.
“He reported to the lottery office alone dressed as a yellow mascot — a common practice among Chinese lotto winners trying to conceal their identity from the public.”
The weirdest thing is that Li didn’t let his wife and kid know about the money he won like if it’s not his own family than who will going to take the benefit from his money?
China Morning Post, reported that he has given the amount of five million Yuan in charity. However, Li don’t have any plan to share this win with his family.
“I didn’t tell my wife and child for fear that they would be too complacent and would not work or work hard in the future,” he said while talking with the Nanning News.
He further said that he had been buying the lottery tickets for so long in which forty lottery tickets had the same seven numbers for the day.
“He is a ‘loyal fan’ of the lottery and had bought tickets regularly for over a decade. He had chosen the same seven numbers for the past few years because they looked pleasing to him. This time, the loyalty to those numbers paid off massively.” – China Morning Post stated.
“I only won a few dozen yuan in the past. I regard buying the lottery as a hobby, and my family does not care. Plus, I do not spend much money on it, and the lottery provides a ray of hope for me,” Li also told.
On 21st October, he got the good news which changed his entire life but at first, he didn’t believe that finally he got lucky so he decided to go to the Nanning next day. After spending sleepless night Li went to look for train next day early in the morning.
“I stayed in a hotel for the weekend before picking up the prize money at the Guangxi Welfare Lottery Distribution Centre on October 24,” he recalled. “I slept in the hotel during those two days. I did not go outside that weekend because I did not want to lose my tickets.”
While explaining how he is going to spend the money Li said.
“I haven’t decided yet, and I will take some time to plan how to use the money.”
According to Li, despite keeping it a secret from his family, he will always see the prize money as a joint asset between his wife and him.
