Aiken High School Teen Went Viral on Social Media After Doing Good Deed

This story revolves around a High school kid who helped an old blind lady in crossing the street at College Hill while she was having difficulty pressing the button to cross the road.

As per WLWT, Dontarius Caldwell was standing across the road along with her sister named Diamond, both brother and sister were waiting for their bus.

While 15-year-old Dontarius was busy playing video games on his phone, his younger sister Diamond saw an elderly lady who was struggling to press the button for the crosswalk sign across the street.

After noticing her, Diamond instantly told her brother about the lady and send him to ask her if she wanted him to help her. Diamond’s brother stopped his game and stood up to help the old lady. Dontarius approached the woman across the road to talk and ask her if she needed any help.

“I told Dontarius that I think she blind, you should get up and go help her, and he got up and went to go help her cross the street two times while I waited for the bus to come,” she shared with the news outlet.

Dontarius went to her and asked her if she needed any help.

“I said, ‘ma’am do you need some help?’ and she said, ‘yeah.’ He told. “She gave me her hand, and I held it.”

The high school teen, took an elderly woman’s hand and helped her. While the teen was helping the woman cross the street, he was unaware that the street’s camera was capturing him.

An onlooker whose name is Mike Garibay was witnessing the entire scene from some distance, he also captured Dontarius’s photo and later shared it on his social media account, which showed the teen holding an elderly woman’s hand and helping her in crossing the street.

The picture went quickly viral on social media and thousands of people liked and shared it.

“This is wonderful, there is some good in everybody, may God bless this young man…Say Amen everybody,” another Facebook user wrote.

“We all need to hear/see stories like this – to remind us that there is good in the world and how we should treat each other. May God bless this young man over and over,” commented by another.

“Awesome…glad to see the young kids being exposed for something positive instead of negative, keep doing wat u do young man,” someone wrote.

“Thank you to his parent for teaching him how to be Respectful, Helpful and most of all Kind! He is an example of how ALL young people should act! This young man will go far in life. Thank you to this young man, because you are the Example,” another comment read.

The brother and sister duo came to News 5, and talked about what they did by saying that they have not done any special thing, they only did what seemed right to them.

“If you be kind, what happens (to them) happens to you,” he said.

The freshman kid from Cincinnati, Ohio, was given a key to his school as a reward for his generous deed.
