A hunky travel blogger named Dan Swygart from north Wales recently met a girl whose name is Shauna Rae, she is a 23-year-old woman who has the appearance of an 8-year-old kid.
Shauna has a body mass index of 50 and her height is just 3 feet, 10 inches tall. Someone who doesn’t aware of her real age could definitely see her as a third-grader
When Rae was just 3-years-old she was diagnosed with brain cancer and after a lot of treatment her health condition became better but it harmed her growth.
She never let her disability stop her to achieve milestones in her life, however, when it comes to the matter of love and relationships, she failed to make much progress.
However, things took a great turn for her, as she met Dan Swygart, a handsome young man and a travel blogger. They both felt an instant connection and built a strong bond.
During the shooting of Rae’s TLC reality series named I Am Shauna Rae.
However, when the video went viral, people started bashing the pair, and the majority criticized Dan, for being in a relationship with Rae.
Some people couldn’t stop themselves from going too far and called him a pedophile for dating a girl who physically looks like a child.
Swygart also came forward to reply and made a video on the issue where he slammed their haters by saying that people should show some respect towards them.
In December, Dan uploaded a video clip in which he shared that Rae didn’t spend a happy childhood and went through a lot of hard times in her life.
Dan also said that he eventually made a connection with Rae because she is an amazing person and he didn’t care about her physical appearance.
It was also revealed by him that after watching Rae’s emotional strength in her video he became so inspired and decided to send her flowers and a card in which her wrote, “Go live your best life. Wishing you all the happiness you deserve.”
He further said that he already had a idea that some hate was coming towards their way, however it doesn’t matter to them.
“It’s very important to remember that Shauna is an incredible 23-year-old woman who has a disability,” Dan told. “So as you are building a connection with her, it’s important to acknowledge her disability and look past that and build it with who she is an individual.”
He added, “She’s this incredible, inspiring 23-year-old woman who just happens to be a little bit short.”
According to the Blogger, Shauna is an incredible person who should have a right to have a relationship and friendship with anyone she wants.
Before meeting her in real, Dan used to talk to her on social media and later he flew out to meet her in person in her hometown in Long Island.
“As soon as you say that she can’t have a real-world connection with someone else, you dehumanize her, which is absolutely disgusting,” he said.
On January 2022, Dan uploaded another video on his Instagram account and said that he had been thinking to address some people’s behavior from past few days.
“It’s absolutely disgusting, the attitude of some people…. you know she has been through so much in life – she survived cancer as a child, and she has always felt different and treated differently by society.”
He continued, “But how dare you take away her right, her human right to have a connection, a friendship, a relationship with someone else? Who are you to say she can’t have that? Dan questioned.
The travel blogger asked people to stop spreading hate towards her. He also revealed that currently he and Rae are just friends and trying to make a deep connection and a stronger bond.
“Well said, you are a good man. So happy for you and Shauna’s friendship too, it feels special and looks like you get real AND has fun together. That’s a simple recipe for an awesome and true friendship,” someone wrote.
“The girl is TWENTY-THREE NOT THREE!!! What do you negative people expect her to do? Date an 8 yr old because she looks like one? Geeezus Love and support from CA,” a second one commented on his video.
“To be stuck in a body that you can’t change. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. At the end of the day she is 23 year old young lady and deserves to be treated like her age. That includes finding love,” a fan added.
