Seth Rogen opened up about the reason why he does not want to have kids.
The Canadian actor tied the knot to Lauren Miller in the year 2011, and since then he has been continuously admitting the fact that he does not want to have children.
While giving an interview with Howard Stern, in 2011, the Superbad actor explained that he would not be able to do all the work he has done if he had kids.
“I wouldn’t be able to do all this work that I like. It’s something I think I was uncomfortable answering before. But [people] were like, ‘How do you do so much?’ and, like, the answer is I don’t have kids.”
Rogen told that he and his wife, Lauren Miller both are psyched that they are not the parents to any child as they don’t have to take care of.
“I would say she wants kids less than I do,” the 41-year-old star further told Stern that he and Miller has made an agreement already regarding not having kids.
“We have so much fun. I don’t know anyone who gets as much happiness out of their kids as we get out of our non-kids,” Rogen added.
“We’re f***ing psyched all the time. We’re lying in bed Saturday morning, smoking weed, watching movies naked. If we had kids we could not be f***ing doing this,” he also said to Stern. “There is no one whose child is giving them as much joy as we are right now getting because we don’t have a kid.”
Recently, Seth made an appearance in The Diary of a CEO podcast, where he explained that how he earned too much success in the film industry because of not having kids.
“There’s a whole huge thing I’m not doing, which is raising children,” Rogen shared with Steven.
When the host, Steven Barlett asked him that if there is a chance that if he had kids would they have made him more happier.
He replied, “I don’t think it would. I’ve been around a lot of children, I’m not ignorant to what it’s like, I’ve seen everyone I know have kids. I’m 40, I know.
He also said, “Some of my friends have had kids for decades, you know. Some people want kids, some people don’t want kids. I think a lot of people have kids before they even think about it, from what I’ve seen honestly. You just are told, you got through life, you get married, you have kids – it’s what happens.”
Seth told Steven that he had already talked with his wife Lauren potentially about having kids during all these years, however, the couple always decided that they did not want any child.
“Me and my wife, neither of us were like that. Honestly, the older we get the more happy and reaffirmed we are with our choice not to have kids. It was something we kind of talked about more, and we were like, ‘Have we made the right choice, are we sure?”
Seth also told that now when his age is over 40, he thanks God for not having kids.
“Now, more than anything, the conversation is like, ‘Honestly, thank God we don’t have children. We get to do whatever we want, we are in the prime of our lives, we are smarter than we’ve ever been, we understand ourselves more than we ever have, we have the capacity to achieve a level of work and a level of communication and care for one another, and a lifestyle we can live with one another that we’ve never been able to live before, and we can just do that and we don’t have to raise a child – which the world does not need right now.”
