Mother Revealed the Reason for sharing her Daughter’s Last Moments on Facebook

A child named Zoey Catherine Daggett was born completely fine and healthy. When the little angel was born her parents Casey and Benjamin both were extremely happy as they were not aware that their newborn came into this world to live a very short life.

Zoey had been living a happy and normal life like any other kid until she became five years old.

But, things took a horrible turn for her family in July 2016, when Zoey was enjoying herself with her parents, she suddenly collapsed and began limping.

“She fell at a park, and she was limping like she broke something that was really, really bad,” Zoey’s mother, Casey shared with the Daily Mail.

“We eventually took her to the hospital because the whole left side of her body wasn’t working.”

Her mom and dad took her to the hospital, where doctors examined her and ran some tests immediately, and then one day later, Zoey’s parents came to know that their daughter had a brain tumor.

“Three weeks later, the diagnosis came back as DIPG,”

“We were in the hallway outside because Zoey was receiving radiation and we just thought: “Oh, cr*p”,” Casey told.

We just thought: “Okay, this changes things”. We didn’t know what to do, where to go. We were told it’s pretty much a death sentence.”

The brave mom also revealed that she along with her husband named Ben used to email every clinical trial and visited every place they could find.

“It was a really disheartening August and September,” she said.

Then, they finally got successful to find out an immunotherapy treatment trial in Germany, and in October 2016, they went to Cologne, Germany after taking an apartment on rent there.

While talking to Daily Mail, Casey said that the trial on Zoey was successful.

“The tumor was shrinking, and Zoey was back to running fully with no side effects,” she told.

“She loved visiting the Christmas markets in Germany. We lived across the street from the Lindt chocolate factory, so she loved going to visit there.”

After her trial, the three of them came back to Fairport, New York. Three months passed and then the family flew again to receive further treatment.

Casey and Ben started noticing that Zoey was limping again in April 2017.

“An MRI showed that her tumor was growing back again.”

“The doctors told us the tumor was not responding to immunotherapy anymore,” said Casey.

And in June 2017, the five-year-old stopped eating, walking, and even talking.

It was revealed by the reports of the scan that Zoey’s tumor had started to spread into the other parts of her brain.

On July 4, 2018, their world went upside down when little Zoey unexpectedly left this world.

“I woke up that morning and I just started bawling my eyes out and I told Ben that I could tell this is just going to be the last day,” Casey said while crying.

The next day after her death, the parents of Zoey, Casey, and Ben posted a photo of their little angel’s final moments on her Facebook page which they named Zoey’s Light.

“Zoey is going to be shared with the world. Her love and light have been abundant, and we will continue to pay it forward and share love and light with the world,” they wrote under her photo.

They also mentioned Zoey’s funeral details in the Facebook post.

The mother revealed to the Daily Mail that she and her partner, Ben posted the photo of their little girl’s last moments on social media because they wanted to give a message of hope to other people.

“I shared it because even though it’s a painful moment, it’s a beautiful moment in our eyes,” she said. “It was a kind of peaceful moment for Ben and me. This is our reality and we wanted to show people every side of it.”

“Our path and our mission is to spread love and to spread it forward. Zoey would share food, share her toys, and share chewing gum. She was full of love always even when she felt like utter poop. Still her happy, loving, giggling self,” she further said.

“And we just want to be able to help others because that’s what our kid would have done.”
