Age is just a number.
The founder of Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia has become one of the oldest women ever who appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit’s annual 2023 issue.
The business magnate was one of four models who were chosen by the publication – the other three cover stars included Megan Fox, Brooks Nader, and Kim Petras.
The 81-year-old TV producer could be seen flaunting her amazing physique while wearing ten different swimsuits, and called ‘posing for the publication’ that was one of the historic moments for her and other older women.
“I don’t think about age very much, but I thought that this is kind of historic and that I better look really good,” she told.
A very talented photographer named Ruven Afanador took her photos. Ruven is a long-time contributor to Vogue, The New York Times, Elle, and Vanity Fair in the Punta Cana area of the Dominican Republic.
While talking about her experience with Magazine, Martha revealed that she doesn’t care about age as it is just a number, however, it was such a big deal for her to appear on the cover at this age.
When I heard that I was going to be on the cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit, I thought, “Oh, that’s pretty good, I’m going to be the oldest person, I think, ever on a cover of Sports Illustrated,”‘ Stewart said.
“Age is not the determining factor in terms of friendship or in terms of success, but what people do, how people think, how people act, that’s what’s important and not your age,” she further said.
The mother of one and grandmother of two who wrote several bestselling books and has hosted two syndicated Television shows sat and spoke with Today in one of her interviews after her shoot, where she said it was indeed a challenge for her.
“For me, it is a testament to good living”‘ Ms. Stewart. “I think that all of us should think about good living, successful living, and not about aging. The whole aging thing is so boring.”
Martha also opened up about her fitness journey before the shoot and shared that she always wanted to look stunning on the cover of the magazine.
“I didn’t starve myself, but I didn’t eat any bread or pasta for a couple months. I went to Pilates every other day,” Stewart accepted.“I live a clean life anyway. Good diet and good exercise and healthy skin care and all of that stuff, but it was kind of fun.”
She said in a funny way that it was quite ‘odd’ posing in front of people while wearing the swimsuits, but in the end, luckily it went all ‘OK’.
