The 42-year-old SKIMS founder doesn’t want to repeat the same mistake in her relationship ever again after her breakup with Pete Davidson.
Kim Kardashian recently sat and spoke with Jay Shetty on his podcast, On Purpose With Jay Shetty, where she talked about how much she struggles as a single parent to four kids, the reality star also discussed her regrets following her previous mistakes in her relationships.
“I definitely will take my time, and I think there’s so many factors especially when you have kids and being mindful of people that enter in your life,” Kim said to Shetty. “If I can look at everything that I did wrong and try to not make the same mistakes and really take my time, I think it just has to be different for me.”
Last year in August, the former SNL star and the makeup mogul split after being in a relationship for nine months.
“I think I’ll always be a hopeless romantic and always want to be in love and definitely love sharing my life with someone and love creating a life with someone.”
Kim further said that she would not stop herself to believe in love again. But, she has learned many things from her past dating life and the mistakes she made in her relationships, which she will never repeat in the future, but currently her main priorities are her kids and her career, so she should take a break for a while.
“It’s obviously such a hard place to be in because how do you go about it?” she said. “There’s so many factors, but I’ll always believe in love and I’ll always want that and I think that’s such a magical part of life. But I think I’m so comfortable taking my time to not rush it.”
“There’s so much going on that I’m not lonely, and I think that that is really important,” the mum of four continued. “I believe, like, I always believe. And I think that whatever’s meant to be will be.”
When they asked him about her opinion on what makes a relationship long-lasting, to which she replied ‘mutual respect’ and ‘treating people with kindness’ as they are the main ingredients.
“I think just having that mutual respect, treating people with respect, is just a given. Every relationship can be different. If you have just a mutual respect around the, across the board, that’s I think the number one thing,” Kim told to Shetty.
“I’m really content,” she also added. “My babies make me happy, my family, my life. You know, experiences make me happy.”
The model has four children with the 45-year-old rapper, Kanye West, including nine-year-old North, six-year-old Saint, four-year-old Chicago, and three-year-old Psalm.
The former couple ended their relationship in 2020, and after going through an ugly legal battle they finalized their divorce in November 2022. In her divorce settlement, Kim receives the amount of $200,000 every month in child support, the house worth $4.5 million which West brought next door, and parenting disputes would be settled by mediation.
A new custody agreement, parenting plans, and the division of their multimillion-dollar real estate portfolio were also settled. As per TMZ, it was decided that both the exes would share joint custody and have equal access to their all children.
In her interview, Kim also discussed about the struggles of raising four kids alone by saying that there are so many nights when she cries herself just to sleep.
“Parenting is the thing that has taught me the most about myself. It has been the most challenging thing,” she said. “There are nights I cry myself to sleep. Like, holy shit, this f—ing tornado in my house. Like, what just happened?”
“You know, with all the moods and the personalities and sometimes they’re fighting, and you know, there’s no one there… Like, it’s [just] me to play good police officer and bad cop.”
The Keeping Up With Kardashian star revealed that she is now working on herself to be a little bit ‘firmer’ as a mother, but it’s not easy to do as this entire thing is too hard.
