Johnny Depp recently revealed that he is in love with the life he is living in Somerset, residing on an 850-acre, Downton Abbey-style estate.
While talking to the lifestyle magazine, Somerset Life, the actor told that he is an introverted and shy person and does not like the way people think he is.
After the ugly legal battle with his ex-wife named Amber Heard, the 59-year-old Depp, started living in Somerset in Southwest England.
As per the Daily Mail, “In 2014, he splashed £ 13 million on a Downton Abbey-style estate in the West Country, which boasts 12 bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and 850 acres.”
“The stunning abode, which looks like it has been taken straight out of a Jane Austen novel, also features sprawling walled gardens.”
Recently, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor told that he loves to stay away from the spotlight.
“I just love places with character. British people are cool and will greet you as if you are a neighbor — without going over the top. I like going to places, seeing things, and meeting people — but I’m not the great extrovert that people think.”
“In truth, I’m quite a shy person. That’s one of the great things about Britain, and especially Somerset. I can just be me — and that’s nice,” he also said.
“I can go into shops without being surrounded by people wanting selfies. I don’t mind that up to a point, but sometimes it gets a little too crowded.”
Despite being an introvert who doesn’t like to stay in limelight, Depp had to keep himself in immense public, and media attention in some previous years, mainly the last year due to his bitter legal battle against Amber Heard in the Virginia Court.
Wednesday, June 2, 2022, was the day when the legal battle between Heard and Depp finally came to an end. But their trial was going on for six more weeks and became the most followed Hollywood trial on the TV and Internet.
The Beetlejuice actor sued his former partner, Heard in a response to her 2018 op-ed in the Washington Post, where the actress stated that she was the survivor of domestic abuse and also assault. Even though the Aquaman actress didn’t explicitly name and shame Depp in her statement, it was quite obvious that she was talking about him as they both were married for over a year and then got divorced.
According to Johnny Depp, Heard tried to tarnish his reputation by writing that statement that’s why he sued her for $50 million. The actor also claimed that Amber’s false allegations affected him a lot. No doubt, he went through so many things as they removed him from the Pirates movie franchise and the actor didn’t get any work.
Later, his ex-wife, Amber Heard countersued him for $100 million by saying that the Pirates of the Caribbean star attempted to defame her for honestly revealing his toxic attitude.
