A social media influencer named Hope Schwing claimed that she has intimidated a lot of men because of her beauty.
The content creator who lives in Los Angeles called herself ‘chronically single.
Schwing revealed that she never got into a serious relationship with anyone as most of the men think that they can’t handle her hotness.
She posted her video on her TikTok account and shared that she failed to find any good partner for her yet because everyone is so intimated about her beauty and do not dare to ask her out, after that video she became viral on the social media platform.
The 24-year-old wrote in her video, “No one talks about how hard it is to be literally so hot that you can’t get a [boyfriend] because all men are extremely intimidated by and scared of you. Being incredibly hot is honestly a curse. “
@hope_schwing I hope this delivers what was sent
The video clip went viral after receiving almost 3.5 million views, and thousands of likes and comments on TikTok.
Even though she has already cleared in the comment section that the video she made was just sarcastic and nothing else as she was not serious during making it, the majority resonated with her thinking.
“Satire extreme satire,” Schwing wrote.
“especially when you have a personality and standards too and they can’t match it all,” a social media user commented.
“the way you said this was satire but its not.. like i literally feel like this is true for me,” a second penned.
“Especially if you’re a career driven woman,” another comment read.
“That’s why I didn’t get a boyfriend in high school?? Lol,” a third said.
“Im gonna believe this is true about myself bc any other explanation will be my last straw,” someone else wrote.
“cause they b staring so hard but wont approach you,” another said.
When Hope’s video went viral on the internet, she sat and spoke in an interview with NeedToKnow.online, where she shared that she usually makes jokes about staying single and it is completely fine to be an independent woman who live at on her own.
“I make jokes about being single and how I “hate” it, but I’m totally fine being single for as long as I need to be,” she told. “The video stating I’m ‘too intimidating and hot’ – I don’t actually mean that. I just notice a trend among women saying these things to explain why they’re single.”
“It’s a more empowering – possibly false – way of hyping ourselves up and making light of being chronically single. I’ve personally been told and heard women give reason that they’re single because ‘the guy wants to be the hot one’ or ‘I’m too hot, I’m intimidating him and scaring him away’ – just funny satirical stuff like that.”
She further added that she had no idea that the video which she posted for fun purpose would resonate with a lot of people.
“I thought it was pretty obvious in my video it was satire and me being existential and dramatic, but clearly that wasn’t delivered. The funny thing is, women commenting are saying, “This isn’t satire, it’s relatable” or “real”. Men on the other hand are basically flaming me, calling me ugly and almost seeming mad,” she told the outlet.
“I’ve never been in a serious relationship, except for ‘puppy love’ type stuff in early high school that didn’t last for more than a month. Nothing serious. I don’t have a ton of experience dating because I don’t really have an urgency to date.”
Schwing concluded, “I’m a busy gal and I think when it’s time for me to date, it’ll come to me. I don’t think I’ll be the one chasing it. Being I’ve been independent my whole life, I’m used to being single.”
