Heartbreaking Reason for Morgan Freeman’s Wearing Glove on Left Hand to Oscars

Last night, Morgan Freeman was spotted at the 95th Academy Awards as the 85-year-old actor went to stage with Margot Robbie while wearing a satin glove on one hand.

Freeman came to the stage with The Wolf Of The Wall Street star and celebrated the years of the Warner Brothers Studios.

The Shawshank Redemption alum was looking dapper as he wore the black tux, and his fans also noticed him wearing an elbow-length black satin glove in his left hand and started wondering why he wore that.

Many of his fans went to Twitter to know out if something happened with the legend’s hand.

“What happened to Morgan freeman’s hand?” a fan questioned.

“What was up with the one hand in a black glove? Is Morgan Freeman ok?” someone asked.

“Did Morgan Freeman hurt his hand?” a third one wrote.

For all those people who don’t know that, in the year 2008, Freeman met a fatal car accident as his vehicle flipped multiple times when he was driving on the Mississippi highway.

According to the Guardian report, “Freeman was driving near his home in Charleston, Mississippi, at the time of the accident. The actor and a female companion were cut free by emergency workers before being airlifted to a hospital 90 miles away in Memphis, Tennessee. “

After the incident occurred the rescue team instantly saved the Bucket List star who was inside the damaged vehicle and at that time Freeman was completely conscious and talking.

“They had to use the jaws of life [hydraulic cutters] to extract him from the vehicle he was lucid, and conscious. He was talking, joking with some of the rescue workers at one point.”

But, severe nerve damage happened to his left hand that led to his hand remaining immovable yet.

This is the reason for wearing the compression glove because it keeps the blood flowing to his paralyzed hand.

While talking about his injury back in 2008, he shared that,

“I suffered nerve damage, and it hasn’t gotten better. I can’t move it. If you don’t move your hand, it will swell up. Do you know you move your hand about a million times a day?’”

Even though the doctor said to Morgan that his hand will be able to move in 2011, however, unfortunately, he still can’t wiggle even his fingers.

In the year 2012, In one of his interviews with Esquire Magazine, the interviewer named Tom Chiarella talked about Freeman’s pain and told,

“More than hurts. It seems a kind of agony, though he never mentions it. Despite surgery to repair nerve damage, he was stuck with a useless left hand. It is stiffly gripped by a compression glove most of the time to ensure that blood doesn’t pool there.”

“It is a clamp, his pain, an icy shot up a relatively useless limb,” he explained.

The actor does not usually seem to wear his glove in his films, and it was also noticed by his fans when the FIFA World Cup Opening Ceremony was going on in Qatar.

As per the Mirror, “Before the first match of the tournament between the host nation and Ecuador, the Hollywood actor delivered a powerful speech to the crowd and millions watching at around the world. “

Morgan was also seen wearing a golden glove in his hand during his meeting with a Qatari influencer named Ghanim al Muftah.

“We gather here as one big tribe and Earth is the tent we all live in,” he said. “Football spans the world, unites nations in their love of the beautiful game. What brings together nations also brings together communities.

“We all have a story on football and how it brought us together and this land has a story of its very own.”
