An American model, social media personality, fashion influencer, and actress named Olivia Culpo, has won the 2021 Miss Rhode Island USA competition in the first pageant. She also won the title of Miss USA and then Miss Universe in the year 2012.
The former Miss Universe recently spoke about her former relationship with ex-boyfriend singer and songwriter Nick Jonas.
The model and influencer shared all the financial and personal struggles she went through from her relationship to her breakup with Nick, in her recent reality show.
On November 7, in the recent episode of The Culpo Sisters, the 30-year-old former Rhode native opened up about her two-year past relationship with the Jonas Brothers singer.
“Do I have to talk about that?” she said, “I did date Nick, and that was a very formative experience for me.”
“I moved to L.A. with him. I had no brand, no money, and I was in love. That was great, but when he broke up with me, I was left with no sense of identity,” she further said.
Olivia also shared when Nick broke up with her she left heartbroken because at that time he was the only one she wanted to marry.
“My whole identity was in him,” she continued, “which is a very common story of a young person in love. I thought we were going to get married, I thought all the things, and I just remember night after night looking up at the ceiling in my apartment that I couldn’t afford thinking to myself how am I going to pay my rent.”
She also claimed that she was very weak financially and couldn’t able to purchase groceries when her relation was ended with the Only Human singer.
She added, “I couldn’t even afford my groceries. It was a serious, pivotal moment for me, but it was something that taught me that you can’t give up.”
After her split with ex-boyfriend, Nick, she explained her feelings by sharing an emotional post on her Instagram where she wrote,
“Your heart just breaks, that’s all,” in the year 2015, Culpo wrote, “Heartbreak is hard but you find more and more things to be grateful for every day.”
Now the former pageant queen is completely moved on from Nick Jonas and dating Christian McCaffrey, she has been in a relationship with him since 2019.
Nick has also married and living a happy life with his wife, Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra and his daughter.
Before getting in a relationship with McCaffery, the reality star had also dated two football players named Danny Amendola, Tim Tebow and a swimmer, Ryan Lochte. After that she made a rule, ‘no more athletes’ and then chose Christian McCaffrey.
“He’s just the best, I feel like he is really everything that I could ever ask for,” she told Entertainment Tonight. “So I never have to worry about anything. I think that was the reason why I didn’t want to date an athlete, no offense because there is a reputation there.”
“He just comes from a great family. We have a lot in common in that respect. I feel like you can really tell who a person is by the people that raise them, and I just love his parents so much. They have a great relationship.”
