The widower of Hugh Hefner, Crystal Hefner, has now started talking about the relationship she had with her late husband, Hefner, and revealed that she was never ‘in love’ with Hefner.
The founder of Playboy, Hugh Hefner lost his life from sepsis in the year 2017 at the age of 91.
A couple of years after his death, the documentary named “Secret of Playboy” aired, displaying shocking claims by the previous employees of Playboy, including a Playmate, and an ex-girl girlfriend of him.
The third wife of Hefner, an American model named Crystal, got married with him in 2012 and they stayed together until his last breath in 2017.
As her new memoir is coming, “Only Say Good Things: Surviving Playboy and Finding Myself,” she is gearing up to reveal the ‘toxic objectification and misogyny’ she went through.
The purpose of her book is to bring attention to the actual life inside The Playboy Mansion, which she thinks was not as much glamourous as showed.
Following her upcoming memoir’s release, she talked about her reflections with People about her time at the Playboy mansion.
In October 2008, Crystal accepted the invitation she got from Hefner, remembering and saying, “At the time I thought I was on top.”
“I thought, ‘Wow, if I just like everything that he likes and do all the things that he wants me to do, then I’m the favorite.’ And I was, but I just lost myself in the process.”
The American magazine publisher proposed to her in 2010, on Christmas eve.
Which she first accepted quickly, however, after sometime she started running away as she realized that there was a prominent power imbalance in the relationship.
“It seemed like a world of success and fantasy, but everyone’s having to sleep with an 80-year-old. There’s a price. Everything has a price.”
While acknowledging her love for Hefner, Crystal clearly revealed that she was never actually ‘in love’ with her late husband.
