A 100-year-old, Ohio Couple Passed Away just hours Apart after being married for 79 Years

An Ohio couple June and Hubert Malicote passed away just some hours apart from each other.

Their 79-year-old son named Sam said to The Daily Dayton News that his father and mother were outside and their last moments came.

He also said that his mother, June got seriously ill after Thanksgiving 2022 and she was admitted to the hospital and taken to end-of-life care.

Seeing his wife

After watching his wife of almost eight decades in critical condition, Hubert felt heartbroken and was taken to the same center where her wife June, 100 was admitted.

“He fell apart really,” Sam added.

As per the outlet, “He then was admitted to hospice and he shared a room with his wife. They were unconscious for days and their hands were placed together.”

“Hubert died at 9:15 p.m. on Nov. 30 and his wife died at 5:40 p.m. Dec. 1, about 20 hours later. Neither one regained consciousness.”

Sam shared that the reason of his father’s death was his broken heart.

When they asked Sam that how he is feeling after the death of his parents who both had died in one day, to which the Ohio native replied,

“I feel sad, but I shouldn’t. Who can expect to live a life like that? They lived a long, happy life together, and they were devoted to God and the family.”

Previous year, they celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary together on 8, June, in the same month the lovely duo had their birthdays too.

June celebrated her last birthday on 13th July, and Hubert turned 100 on 23rd July.

In 1942, the couple met each other for the first time in the winter when Hubert was working in the US Navy.

According to the Daily Dayton, “He only saw June when he was home on leave for 13 days. On his second 13-day leave, since he didn’t know when — or if would he return home after World War II — they decided to get married. “

“After World War II, he returned to work for Diebold Inc. where he retired as shop supervisor in 1990.”

When the war came to an end, Hubert got a job in one of the retail technology companies in Hamilton, Ohio, and then he had to settled there with June for their better future.

The pair shared three children together including Sam, Jo, and Theresa.

They also have seven grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren.

In June 2022, the love birds celebrated their 79th wedding anniversary together, and then appeared on the Today Parents, where they talked about the secret of their everlasting love and also shared the secret about their happy married life.

“We didn’t go through life without problems, but we would never do anything to hurt each other,” Hubert told.

“If there’s controversy, you might have to walk away for a couple minutes. Then you come back in and change the subject or you work it out.”

While talking to CBS Local 12, June shared,

“We haven’t had one quarrel,” and Hubert also added, “You never want to hurt the one you love. Put them first, above your own feelings. If you have difficulties, work them out. I would say don’t go to bed mad.”

In one of his interviews with Today earlier, Hubert told that he never imagined his life without his loving wife June Malicote.

“It’s kind of like if we aren’t together, the team is broken.”
