The famous American actor and former professional wrestler named Dwayne Douglas Johnson, who is also known as The Rock, gave a huge gift to his ‘lifelong buddy’ who did everything for him when the actor was homeless as a teenager.
The superstar Dwayne, who is famously known for the roles he played in Fast and Furious, Jumanji, Baywatch, The Rundown, Red Notice, Shazam, and Black Adam, has led an entirely different life in his past.
On 1st January 2021, the 50-year-old actor went to his Instagram account and uploaded an adorable video featuring his long-time pal, Bruno, who is the same gentleman who helped him a lot in his hard times, and took the actor when he was just a 15-years-old and reached Nashville.
“Merry Christmas, Bruno. Love you, brother! 100% crackhead free,” The Rock mentioned in his prolonged caption.
“My life (especially my teenage years) has been full of the wildest twists and turns – yet God and the universe had always found a way to put a few people in my path that would change the trajectory of the road I was going down.”
Meet one of my lifelong friends, Bruno Lauer — or I prefer to call him, “Downtown Bruno,” the Hollywood star wrote.
Recently the highest-paid actor in Hollywood told the heartfelt story of his life to millions of his fans that how he and his mother were kicked out of their house in Hawaii and were sent to Nashville to continue their life with his father.
However, things took a turn for him when he landed in Nashville and knew that the plans had become changed and now he wasn’t going to live with his father.
“Instead, I told I was gonna live with a guy named Bruno. Who at the time lived in a tiny room at a spot called the Alamo Plaza motel. Bruno could’ve (and should’ve) said hell no, I’m not takin’ in some kid who I don’t know,” he further added in his caption, “But he didn’t.”
“He took this punk kid in and we became lifelong friends,” he explained. “Then ironically – about 9 years later when I had the infamous “$7 Bucks” in my pocket – I started my wrestling career in Memphis, Tennessee and AGAIN – had no place to live and Bruno took me and let me shake up in his trailer, til I could get on my feet.”
The Fast and Furious actor also shared with his fans that he was just a 15-years old kid when his friend, and the former professional wrestling manager, Bruno Lauer not only let him live in his trailer but also helped him a lot in buying his first car worth $40.
“So I could hustle a crackhead out of his car one night at a honky tonk in Nashville. But the hustle was on me, because when I took off down the road there was a SECOND CRACKHEAD passed out on the floor in the back!” Dwayne said while laughing.
Later, in his heartwarming video, the Baywatch alum thanked Bruno for his selflessness and care towards him and also surprised him by giving him a new car, a $30,000 Ford F150 truck.
After seeing the present that his beloved friend gave him, Bruno got emotional and instantly hugged the superstar with tears in his eyes while continuously saying, “Oh My God.”
“Merry Christmas, Bruno, and since you helped me “buy” my first car – I figured I could return the favor and buy you one that 100% does NOT have a crackhead in the back seat,” he further added in his caption.
“I love you, brother. Your kindness and heart – helped change my life’s trajectory.”
“And when you’re ready to retire from “the business” you just say the word. I got you covered. We’ll go “downtown.”
“Enjoy your new ride and give Walls, Mississippi my love and gratitude,” Dwayne penned.
His fans flooded the comment section with a lot of positive comments and couldn’t stop themselves to praise their favorite actor for his remarkable act towards his friend, Bruno. While applauding many fans commented,
“Well done, Rock. We love you!”
